Why do you use cypress and red cedar? Both woods will last a lifetime. Old-timers built boats that would last forever. Cypress is very resistant to decay and insect attack and so is red cedar. King david in the Bible times and other Kings used cedar and cypress for most all their buildings. The temple for God was built with this wood. It is great to know that cypress can stand the tests of time, weather and insects HOW DO YOU CARE FOR CYPRESS You can do many things with cypress: it looks good seasoned naturally or you can varnish or paint or stain & seal it. Why would a business that makes all cypress and cedar furniture call itself "Southern Charm"? For as long as I can remember I have heard about the northern part of the States building great furniture and how it was great to visit and watch them do so. I want people to know that great furniture is built in the SOUTH! Each piece of my furniture is crafted and each component is individually chosen to match color and grain, giving each piece it's own special beauty. This is why I have chosen red cedar & cypress: it gives a beautiful two-tone look together. You may prefer cypress only or red cedar only. It's great all three ways. I also like to build all my furniture with wood cut at least ONE inch or better. I build it to last so you can hand it down to your grand kids. I build it the way I would like and build it where you can say you got your money's worth. I am proud to stand behind my workmanship. I believe it's the best.
